New Mead License Could Grow State's Craft Beverage Sector

The license, included in a proposal in the 2019 budget, would allow farm meaderies to make and sell mead made from honey produced in New York, the top honey producer in the Northeast. In 2016 the state produced more than 3.6 million pounds of honey, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
