The Miami Hurricanes continued their climb in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll on Sunday after beating South Florida on the road.
Miami climbed one spot from No. 8 to No. 7 following Saturday’s victory.
The Hurricanes have not been ranked this high since they were ranked seventh on Oct. 4, 2020.
Miami ranked seventh in the FWAA-NFF Super 16 this week, and the USA Today coaches poll has UM at No.
UCF‘s much-anticipated showdown with Colorado and coach Deion Sanders will kick off Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on FOX.
It’s the first meeting between the programs, with the Buffaloes returning to the Big 12 after spending the past 13 seasons in the Pac-12.
UCF (3-0, 1-0 Big 12) is coming off a thrilling come-from-behind win at TCU a week ago in which the Knights erased a 21-point deficit in the third quarter to win 35-34.
The Miami Hurricanes rolled into Tampa and battled in a back-and-forth first half with the Bulls. But Miami dominated in the second half and ultimately rolled to a 50-15 win.
USF has shown that it is a capable team, and quarterback Cam Ward said the Bulls are the toughest team UM has faced in its first four games.
Here are 10 things we learned from the Hurricanes’ rout:

Miami’s first half was not its best.
SEATTLE — Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will miss at least four games while on injured reserve for his latest concussion, but he is still finding ways to help the team Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.
Tagovailoa, who coach Mike McDaniel said Friday was traveling with the Dolphins across the country, will be wearing an earpiece on Miami’s sideline, according to the NFL Network, to help backup quarterback Skylar Thompson as he starts for Tagovailoa.
The NFL Network report said doctors have told Tagovailoa, as long as he’s feeling good, he can partake in normal activities outside of playing football.
While Tagovailoa continues to visit with independent doctors and neurologists after his most recent concussion, suffered Sept.
Eugene “Mercury” Morris, a great Miami Dolphins running back on their two Super Bowl-winning teams, has died at 77.
Morris’ death was first announced by his son on social media platform X and has been confirmed by the Dolphins.
Morris was a 1,000-yard rusher on the Dolphins’ undefeated 1972 team and has been one of the more passionate defenders of the team’s title as the NFL’s lone perfect team in league history with his outgoing personality.
He led the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns that season, earning one of three career Pro Bowls, the others in 1973, when the Dolphins defended their Super Bowl crown, and 1971, when Miami made its first Super Bowl but lost to the Dallas Cowboys.
Morris was the speedster in a great Dolphins backfield trio in the early 1970s that also consisted of Jim Kiick and Hall of Fame fullback Larry Csonka.
Morris is survived by his children Geno, Maceo, Tiffany, Troy and Elliott and his siblings Cynthia, Valerie and Janice.
Larry Little, the Dolphins Hall of Fame guard and member of the 1972 Perfect Season team, might have been Morris’ closest friend on the team.
Little said he visited Morris in the hospital Tuesday.
“I got him to smile,” Little said Sunday.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Donald Trump has long pledged to deport millions of people, but he’s bringing more specifics to his current bid for the White House: invoking wartime powers, relying on like-minded governors and using the military.
Trump’s record as president shows a vast gulf between his ambitions and the legal, fiscal and political realities of mass deportations of people in the United States illegally — 11 million in January 2022, by the Homeland Security Department’s latest estimate.
