Capt. Terry Roberts is enjoying his new gig so much, he wishes he could put his desk on the roof of his California Highway Patrol office in Ventura. "The sun is really bright out here," Roberts said outside the Valentine Road office. "That's why I came." Roberts, who spent most of his career in Bakersfield, said he had been hoping to move to the coast for some time and had two previous opportunities to do it but was waiting for his children to grow up.
