(By Rick Bonnell, rbonnell@charlotteobserver.com) The NBA strongly denies a contention by Charlotte Bobcats guard Stephen Jackson that he was fined $50,000 essentially for talking to himself following a Friday loss.The league levied one of the heftiest fines ever for "verbal abuse of game officials'' Saturday. Jackson contends he was talking to himself following a 97-90 loss and that he wasn't within earshot of the referees as he left the court.
