The Nationals debuted a new setup man in the eighth inning of Wednesday night’s 2-1 win over the Mets, their tall, powerful right-hander Blake Treinen. He was bred as a starter, so is untested in the unique pressure of crucial innings in close games. Wednesday, he was tested by circumstance, called for late on a chilly April night to preserve the Nationals’ first late-game lead of the season.
