(AP) — Guard Taylor Jordan scored 21 points to lead Moweaqua Central A&M past Hardin-Calhoun 51-41 on Saturday to capture the Illinois 1A girls high school basketball championship. Hardin led 27-25 at the half, until Moweaqua's Jordan got hot, hitting two three-pointers within a two-minute stretch of the third to help propel the Raiders. Hardin, which held a substantial height advantage, out-rebounded Moweaqua 43-31, although the Raiders grabbed several key rebounds in the final minutes to seal the victory. Moweaqua beat eventual third-place finisher Prophetstown 56-52 in Friday's semifinal action, while Hardin defeated Gilman 49-36.
