Author Gunter Grass, who won the Nobel prize for literature in 1999, died this weekend at age 87, his publisher said today. Grass was most famous for his novel “The Tin Drum,” which was made into a movie. Grass frequently wrote about war, and it was a topic in “The Tin Drum” also.
