More than 1,500 tickets for the inaugural Rise Up Music Fest in McHenry were sold within the first 10 minutes they were available on Wednesday. As of Wednesday afternoon, that number had grown to 2,000. The two-day musical event, organized by the RISE Up Foundation, is set for June 19 and 20 at Petersen Park in McHenry and will raise funds for a new splash pad in the city. On June 20, the concert will be headlined by Brantley Gilbert and include the multiplatinum Grammy-winning Eli Young Band. “We were hoping it was going to be this way,” said McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett, who serves as the director of the RISE Up Foundation.
