A methadone clinic in Monument will not be given a business license after a town board sided with a former heroin user who led a vocal opposition movement. The decision ended an hours-long Monday night meeting with a standing ovation, led by hundreds of opponents to the clinic who railed against its location across from Limbach Park in downtown Monument. Four of the town's five Board of Adjustments members needed to side against the methadone facility to keep it from moving forward and opening later this year.
