Michigan Education Authority Finalist For Federal Improvement Funds

The U.S. Department of Education announced today the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan is a finalist for part of $400 million Race to the Top funds to improve education. The EAA is a new statewide school system that will operate the lowest performing 5 percent of schools in Michigan not achieving satisfactory results on a redesign plan or that are under an emergency manager.
