Metro-north Collision Shuts Down Danbury Branch Line

REDDING — The Metro-North Danbury Branch was partially shut down after an unoccupied car was struck by a train late Friday night, Metro-North officials said. The accident occurred around 11:24 p.m. just north of the Branchville station when a train hit a car abandoned on Topstone Road in Redding. There were no injuries reported in the accident, Metro-North officials said. Due to the accident, the Danbury Branch Line north of Redding was suspended until about 2 a.m.
