SAND SPRINGS — A new city law takes effect Sunday, forcing property owners with rental homes used as meth labs to clean the properties up before renting them again.The ordinance applies to all dwellings, whether homes, mobile homes, apartments, or motel or hotel rooms.Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter said the law, approved by the city council this week, is intended to protect prospective tenants from the harmful effects of toxic chemicals used in making methamphetamine."We don’t want a family moving into one of these homes and having their children play on carpets exposed to these chemicals,” Carter said.Read more on NewsOK.com
