A LoHi restaurant space is changing hands, and cuisines, again.
Blossom by SYC, a higher-end Chinese restaurant, plans to open next spring at 1691 Central St.
It will be the fifth eatery to operate in the 3,300-square-foot space in the past 10 years. The most recent one was El Chingon Bistro.
“The inside is going to be nothing like Denver has ever had yet,” said James Choi, director of operations for the restaurant group.
Choi said the spot, whose interior will be adorned with “shiny parts and contrasting colors,” will be part of a new chain of upscale restaurants, SYC Concepts.

Both are 4-year-old reticulated giraffes that joined the herd in 2022, with BB coming from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Jasiri coming from the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kansas.
BB and the calf are both doing well, and she is voluntarily participating in her prenatal care, including ultrasounds, checkups and weigh-ins, according to the zoo.
This is the first giraffe born at the zoo since Dobby, now the oldest member of the herd at 8 years old, was born in 2017.
“Not only is this exciting news for DZCA, but it’s also a huge win for this endangered species and supports overall animal conservation efforts in human care,” zoo officials wrote in a post on Facebook.
