BY CALEB BEDILLION DAILY JOURNAL STARKVILLE – More agreement than disagreement was on view as candidates for mayor pitched their visions for the city’s future during a Monday evening public forum. Johnny Moore, Damion Poe and Lynn Spruill are all Democrats seeking to succeed incumbent Parker Wiseman as mayor of Starkville. After two terms, Wiseman chose not to run again. Moore, 56, has mounted a campaign that emphasizes a need to make Starkville more receptive to business interests. Poe, 26, highlights his passion for the city and youthful energy. Spruill, 64, underscores her experience in municipal government with past stints as chief administrative officer for Starkville and mayor of Addison, Texas.
