STAMFORD — One man has been taken into custody following a stabbing near downtown Stamford early Tuesday afternoon. Radio reports from the scene said that a man had been stabbed in the eye on West Washington Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. Capt. Richard Conklin said that a male suspect is in custody and witnesses are being taken to Stamford Hospital to help with identifying the assailant. The location, just north of North Street, was the scene of a vandalism call during the early morning.
