Man Looking For His Dog Dies After Suv Hits Him In Sandy

A 90-year-old man looking for his dog was hit and killed by a sports-utility vehicle Friday night, Sandy police said. About 7:45 p.m., the man was crossing 10600 South near 300 East, where there isn’t a crosswalk, when the westbound SUV hit him, said Sandy Police Lt. Jon Arnold. Police have not yet released the man’s name, but said that he lived in a nearby retirement home. “It appears he was looking for his dog,” Arnold said.
