Surveillance video captured the shooting death of a Vancouver man as he crossed the Burnside Bridge in Portland early Tuesday, according to prosecutors, who’ve leveled charges of murder, robbery and illegal firearm possession against a suspect in that and another killing. James Javontae Barquet, 26, appeared in an Oregon court Wednesday, and was charged with two counts of aggravated murder in the shooting death of Brian Hansen, 51, of Vancouver, and Carol Horner, 70, of Portland. Barquet appeared in court Wednesday, where he was also charged with one count each of first-degree robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Multnomah County, Ore., District Attorney’s Office. Police found Horner’s body Monday, under the west end of the Morrison Bridge, according to the district attorney. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office found Horner died of a single gunshot to the head.
