Cruz retained his seat after beating back Allred, keeping alive Texas’ streak of not electing a Democratic Senator in more than 30 years.
Cruz rose to national prominence when he ran for President in 2016, before dropping out of the Republican primary and eventually endorsing Donald Trump.
Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has won her congressional race in Colorado’s 4th district.
The controversial rightwing lawmaker, who was first elected to Congress in 2020, won the race against Jeff Hurd, according to the Associated Press.
Boebert will begin her third term as a Colorado representative, but this time for a different district.

Delaware State Sen. Sarah McBride, already the nation’s highest-ranking openly transgender elected official, made history once again on Tuesday, becoming the first openly transgender person elected to the United States Congress.

Republican Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson lost the race for North Carolina Governor to the state’s Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein, according to the Associated Press, ending the provocative candidate’s campaign.
