About 50 workers at the Maine Military Authority were advised Thursday that they may be laid off in the wake of a contract dispute. MMA notified employees Thursday of possible lay-offs as early as Oct. 21 “due to financial constraints,” according to a news release from the Maine Emergency Management Agency, which is part of the Department of Defense and affiliated with the state-owned MMA in Limestone.
