Repeatedly citing a need to bring stability to the Macomb County Clerk's Office, five of the top elected officials in county government Tuesday called on the circuit court judges to keep the recently appointed temporary clerk in office through the end of the year.In an unusual and bipartisan move, the five officials -- County Executive Mark Hackel, Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller, Treasurer Larry Rocca, Prosecutor Eric Smith and Sheriff Anthony Wickersham -- said they hope the circuit bench will vote to have Kathy Brower remain as temporary clerk through December instead of selecting someone to fill that role through the end of the year.
