Another grocery store chain gained a foothold in the Upstate on Wednesday. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Lowes Foods broke ground on its new Greer store at the intersection of Suber and Hammett Bridge roads in Greenville County. The family-owned company said the store is the first of several it hopes to open across the community that blend its unique shopping experience with a strong focus on locally-sourced products. “We have a definite commitment to the Upstate,” said Michael Moore, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Lowes Foods.
