Local Officials: Repealing Hall Tax Would Hurt

NASHVILLE — If Tennessee legislators abolish the state’s “Hall” tax on income from stocks and bonds, cities and counties that receive large distributions of the revenue will have to cut services, raise taxes or both to make up the revenue loss, local officials say.
