Capt. Richard Conklin said police received a call about the weapon at 6:20 p.m. and immediately headed to the area, which has been the site of several shootings and drug activity in recent months. Officers with the department’s Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad found the Colt .32-caliber pistol inside a white plastic bag that was stashed in a pile of leaves behind a boarded up building in the area of 775 Atlantic St., Conklin said.
