Livestock Industry Wins Supreme Court Appeal

A state law mandating "humane treatment" of downed livestock headed for the slaughterhouse was unanimously overturned by the Supreme Court.

Also on this date: In 1894, French army officer Alfred Dreyfus was convicted of treason in a court-martial that triggered worldwide charges of antisemitism.
