We didn’t realize it at the time, but we were chasing news in a golden age of journalism in South Florida. It was the 1980s. Broward alone had three profitable newspapers: the Hollywood Sun-Tattler, Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel (plus its sister paper, the afternoon Fort Lauderdale News, which, like PM papers everywhere, was on its last legs).
