Since Jan. 1, the people who work and live in Portland have faced cost-of-living increases because of a minimum-wage increase. Now some state legislators want to increase gas taxes. And it’s not over yet – other tax increases have happened to pay for better services or other reasons. Soon, within two years, any minimum-wage increase benefits will be negative, as prices for every necessity will increase. Gregory Morrow Portland
