Despite years of development, Polly Pocket has hit a major roadblock after losing writer/director, Lena Dunham. Initially launching in 1983, Mattel acquired Polly Pocket in 1998 and made it a popular toy brand known for its small pocket-size traveling case and unique clothing line, which was seen as an equal to Barbie and Bratz in the early 2000s.
