CRYSTAL LAKE – The League of Women Voters have canceled their first candidate forum in anticipation of a snowstorm starting Thursday night. The McHenry County clerk candidates meet-and-greet and forum was scheduled for Thursday night at McHenry County College. Clerk Mary McClellan is not seeking re-election, and she instead is running for circuit court judge. McHenry County Recorder Joe Tirio, former McHenry City Clerk Janice Dalton and Democrat Drew Georgi Jr., a former Hebron trustee and Marine veteran, are all running to fill the seat. The National Weather Service predicts McHenry County will receive up to 10 inches of snow through Friday, starting Thursday night. It was not immediately clear if the clerk candidate forum would be rescheduled. Upcoming forums include: • McHenry County Board candidates from all districts will participate in a meet-and-greet from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
