Potter County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a news conference for Friday morning to discuss the growing concern over hunting and shooting near the Canadian River on North State Highway 287. According to a release sent out Tuesday morning, the public has been under the impression that they can go to the Canadian River off Highway 287 to hunt and shoot guns. The release went on to say that unrestricted shooting is causing problems now due to several houses being built in the area and an increase in public traffic, such as ATVs riding along the river bottom. read more
