Jason Jenkins, the former Dolphins senior vice president of communications and community affairs, is one of three recipients of the Hall of Fame’s “Awards of Excellence.” Jenkins, who died unexpectedly in Aug. 2022, is among three 2025 Awards of Excellence winners in the Public Relations Directors category. Jenkins becomes the first Black “Awards of Excellence” winner among the 14 total honorees in the program’s four classes of honorees. Jenkins and the two others, Pete Abitante and Bill Keenist, will be honored at a cocktail dinner and awards luncheon in Canton on June 25-26. Jenkins, who started with the Dolphins in 2009, was named to his communications and community affairs role in 2015.
