All it’s taken for Colorado State to figure out a football program can’t buy love or respect is to flush nearly a quarter-billion dollars down the drain. All it cost the Rams to realize Steve Addazio was the wrong man for the job was 16 games of hot-headed mismanagement on the CSU sideline and $6 million, with half that staggering amount paid to make the Daz go away. But that’s a drop in the bucket compared to the new $220 million stadium the Rams wedged into the corner of campus and opened in 2017 with delusions of grandeur based on the crazy notion the Big 12 Conference is itching to add a program whose tradition of success is as flimsy as its statewide support. With football a colossally expensive flop in Fort Fun, I have but one question.
