Universal's Jurassic World is set to trample the box office this weekend, and the film has already pulled in an impressive $18.5 million from late-night screenings, which started at 7 p.m. on Thursday at 3,229 U.S. theaters. That number marks the studio's biggest late-night opening ever, surpassing the $15.8 million Furious 7 brought in from its early screenings in April, though Disney-Marvel's Avengers: Age Of Ultron so far has had the year's strongest opening, making $27.6 million in late-night screenings to kick off a $191.3 million opening weekend. Forecasters estimate that Jurassic World will gross roughly over $100 million across $4,273 theaters nationwide — an impressive feat that only 30 films have achieved so far.
