Joel McHale, lead star of the idiosyncratic sitcom Community, revealed that the production of the film version was significantly close to commencing, however, due to the unforeseen Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, things have been brought to a standstill. The actor, who is also the executive producer for the upcoming film, said that the production was set for summer during an interview with Variety.
