This year's draft heavy on size, light on glamour This year's NFL draft is heavy on size and light on glamour. There's no high-profile quarterback destined to go No. 1 and instantly become the face of a downtrodden franchise. There's not even a running back or wide receiver worthy of the top overall pick, someone with the kind of swagger that wins over fans weary of losing. More

Arapahoe Basin has officially joined the Alterra Mountain Company list of resort holdings with the announcement on Tuesday that the purchase has closed.
The sale to Alterra, which is headquartered in Denver, was announced in February but was subject to review by the U. S. Department of Justice over antitrust considerations.
Since Eldora Mountain Resort’s parent company announced it was for sale last August, officials in the quirky mountain town of Nederland just down the road have been wondering how new ownership might affect their beloved old-school ski area.
That has led them to an interesting thought: What if the town became the new owner?
Town administrator Jonathan Cain concedes the idea is a longshot for the town of 1,500 residents, but he maintains there is a “plausible path forward” to making it a reality.
“It’s a big deal, not an easy thing by any means,” Cain said.
The new action-sports league being launched by Shaun White will air on NBC beginning next year.
White announced earlier this year that he was putting together The Snow League, a four-stop circuit that will feature halfpipe snowboarding and freeskiing. On Tuesday, the league and NBC revealed that the first event is set for March 7-8 in Aspen, with the rest of the schedule still to be announced.
White plans on getting 20 men and 16 women in each contest for a prize pool of more than $1.5 million over the first season.
