J.D. Vance mustered up all his compassion, i.e. none, after two students and two instructors were shot to death and nine others wounded by gunshots in a Georgia high school this week. The suspect is a 14-year-old student who allegedly used an assault-style rifle to commit the mass murder and carnage. Vance’s response? “I don’t like this, I don’t like to admit this, I don’t like that this is a fact of life,” Vance said. But Vance doesn’t dislike this “fact of life” enough to want to keep assault-style rifles out of the hands of 14-year-olds or anyone else.
