TOKYO -- Health officials say six people have died and at least 100 others have been sickened by pickles contaminated with E. coli bacteria in northern Japan.The officials in Hokkaido said Saturday that the pickled Chinese cabbage was made by two local producers and sold across the prefecture. A man was hospitalized Saturday evening after he was shot by deputies in Adams County east of Westminster, according to the sheriff’s office. The agency wrote in a social media post that deputies were conducting a welfare check in the 7600 block of Heather Place and were in contact with a man “for several minutes” prior to the shooting, which was reported to dispatchers at 5:20 p.m. As of 5:50 p.m.
