While James Cameron is deep into post-production on Avatar: Fire and Ash and in development for Avatar 4 & 5, he has found a new project outside of Pandora. Deadline has learned that Cameron purchased the rights to Charles R. Pellegrinos forthcoming Ghosts of Hiroshima as well as his 2015 book Last Train From Hiroshima, both of which will be combined into one "uncompromising theatrical film." The movie will be titled Last Train From Hiroshima and focuses on the true story of a Japanese man during World War II who survived the atomic blast at Hiroshima and then the nuclear explosion in Nagasaki after taking a train.
Netflix's I Think You Should Leave creator and star Tim Robinson acts alongside Paul Rudd in Friendship, an upcoming comedy that has just been acquired by A24. The film follows a suburban family man played by Robinson who becomes dangerously obsessed with a charming new neighbor (Rudd). Directed by Andrew DeYoung (Our Flag Means Death), Friendship has officially landed a distributor after receiving glowing reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere.
