Jacksonville police were searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian early Saturday at Atlantic Boulevard and Acme Street. The victim, described only as a man, died at the scene after being struck about 5 a.m. by white vehicle traveling west on Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. A witness reported the hit-and-run, and followed the suspect’s vehicle until losing sight of it at Atlantic and University boulevards, the Sheriff’s Office said. read more
