Iowa on Friday reported 27,398 new coronavirus cases and 15 new, confirmed deaths, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health. The drastic uptick in test results Friday is due to changes in how public health officials are tracking tests and calculating the state’s positivity rate, the Iowa Department of Public Health confirmed in an email to The Gazette.
