“A top pollster for the Biden campaign circulated new internal poll results Monday that showed the president’s standing unchanged despite his poor performance in last week’s debate — the Biden team’s latest effort to argue that the debate did not significantly change the dynamics of the race,” the Washington Post reports. “The results, described in a memo by campaign pollster Geoff Garin of Hart Research, were circulated with the intent of calming nervous Democrats, who fear that Biden’s stumbles could undermine his candidacy.” “Garin said the weekend online poll showed that Trump holds a narrow lead in a head-to-head contest, similar to the one he held in a survey conducted in May.”
