Oregon and Southwest Washington continue to grow representation of businesses owned by people identifying as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) as the region's historically whiter-than-average population slowly becomes more diverse. This year the 35 businesses with 50% or more BIPOC ownership that responded to the Business Journal's survey for The List had 2,359 workers in Oregon and Southwest Washington, boosting their local employment by a substantial 35% from last year.
