Injury Taught Him To Cherish Time On The Field

The memories are so fresh in Kane Sherrill's mind that he can hardly contain them. The serious ankle injury suffered last season by the Lake Norman High football player haunts him often. The injury cost him half of last season, and months of off-season rehabilitation. But it's those memories that are now motivating the 6-foot-3, 270-pound offensive lineman, as he and his Wildcats teammates begin their first year in a new conference, the I-Meck, that includes Hopewell, North Meck, West Charlotte, Mallard Creek, Vance and longtime rival Mooresville.“I can't wait to get out there under the lights on Friday night,” said Sherrill, who is being heavily recruited by Wofford, Elon, Delaware, Richmond and several other schools.
