A few lucky locals were at the White House the other day as part of a Careers in Film symposium hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. The teens, chosen to attend because they participate in Fast Forward, a film and new media program at the ICA, attended a screening of “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” and the discussion that followed with Hollywood movie magnate Harvey Weinstein, “Fruitvale Station” director Ryan Coogler, Whoopi Goldberg, Blake Lively, and Naomie Harris, the actress who plays Winnie Mandela in “Long Walk To Freedom.” Said ICA director Jill Medvedow afterwrad: “Teens are our future artists, civic leaders, and creative thinkers.
