The whole premise of Jumanji used to scare the crap out of me when I was younger, and re-watching it today made me realise that is could be really scary and dark what with all the creatures that can come out of the game "There are things that hunt you in the night, then something screams, then you hear them eating, and you hope to God that you're not dessert" Van Pelt could be developed as a character, including a slight back story regarding why he is doing what he is doing.
