The long-time Miami pitching coach was named head coach on Monday, a source told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Arteaga replaces Gino DiMare, who stepped down after five seasons as the team’s head coach earlier this month. As UM’s pitching coach, he has taught several MLB draftees, including recent picks Carson Palmquist, Alex McFarlane and Jake Garland.
