Huntington Lake's Aspen Fire At 50% Containment

The Aspen fire north of Huntington Lake has burned about 17,800 acres and was 50% contained as of 7 p.m. Friday, fire officials said. The Sierra National Forest blaze, started July 22 by lightning, continued to grow in the northeast and southeast areas of the fire's perimeter and has reached the dam at Mammoth Pool Reservoir.
