The Hungarian camerawoman who notoriously kicked and tripped migrants has apologized for her actions. Footage had circulated of Petra Laszlo’s actions while videotaping migrants in Roszke, Hungary for an online TV station, drawing condemnation from the international community; she subsequently lost her job. She later explained that she had been acting out of fear after the migrants broke through a police line at a relocation camp. “I’m not a heartless, racist, children-kicking camerawoman,” she wrote in the newspaper Magyar Nemzet, according to the New York Times.
