Over 70 million Americans have a criminal record. Yet many employers still have discriminatory hiring practices toward job seekers with criminal records. The number of Americans with a criminal record has risen sharply over the past three decades. Now, more than 70 million people, or roughly one in three American adults, have a criminal record, according to The Sentencing Project.
