Los Angeles County generates $790 billion in GDP annually — the most of any county in the United States. The region is innovative, creative, vibrant and diverse. At the same time, there are trends that could undermine these strengths. For example, compared to 12 peer counties McKinsey examined, and the country as a whole, Los Angeles is below par in economic growth, labor force participation, job growth and unemployment.
