Hockey Team Will Honor Slain Stamford Man

STAMFORD — In a tribute to Joseph “Joey” Comunale, the 26-year-old from Stamford who was murdered in New York City over the weekend, the Westhill-Stamford co-op boys hockey team is retiring his no. 9 jersey at an upcoming alumni game. Comunale continued to play hockey on adult leagues in Stamford. Comunale was stabbed 15 times before his body was buried in a shallow grave, police said.
